Julian Travis Ximenes

"I’m a filmmaker who likes quiet stories — the kind that say more through light and timing than dialogue. I make short films that focus on atmosphere and emotion.”

About Me

I’m Julian Ximenes—raised under the bright burn of the Fort Lauderdale coast, an avid beach bum turned mountain forger, carrying the tide’s rhythm and the Blue Ridge hush in the same breath. I build films from intention: frames carved from silence, motion shaped with purpose, stories that move like weather.

My journey into the craft began at Paxson Communications Corporation, creators of the original PAX Television Network before its evolution into ION. That’s where I learned the geometry of broadcast storytelling—how to cut, sculpt, and deliver a narrative inside the unforgiving precision of network standards. Under feature-film editor Greg Sheldon, my entire sense of timing and story sharpened. Editing wasn’t just work—it became instinct, discipline, and a kind of internal signal you learn to follow.

Long before film took over, I worked the charter boats out of Fort Lauderdale—salt in the air, lines on the dock, the tide teaching you patience and readiness all at once. I played semi-pro baseball, too, where timing is law and discipline isn’t optional. Those worlds gave me a kind of quiet steadiness: move with purpose, adjust on the fly, execute clean. That energy still threads through every cut I make.

Since 2005, I’ve built Bright Mountain Pro—a space dedicated to atmospheric, pre-planned, cinematic storytelling. Work designed from the inside out, where the vision forms long before the camera wakes up.

As for the last name—because it’s carried more curiosity than trouble—my grandfather, Giuseppe (Joseph) Pompeo Ximenes, was born in Palagonia, Sicily, made his way through New York, and the family eventually rooted in Miami. In short, a Castilian name carried through Sicilian history, still moving forward frame by frame.
